Navigating Lower back Pain in Pilates
Navigating Lower back Pain in Pilates
Lower back pain is a significant issue for many of the clients we see in the Pilates studio and sometimes it’s hard to know where to begin. This workshop is geared towards both new and experienced instructors alike. Students will learn what are considered “red flags” or reasons for a client to avoid participating in Pilates because of pain and questions to ask to help your client decide if an exercise is appropriate for them. We’ll work to dispel some common myths about lower back pain and learn strategies to help modify common exercises for someone in pain. Finally, we’ll have some time at the end for a Q&A to answer any specific questions you have about your current clients.
